Closkelt Joins Team acoustIQ

Closkelt Pipe Band from County Down, Northern Ireland has joined acoustIQ as its first pipe band artist.


Closkelt won the Scottish, British, United Kingdom, and Champion of Champions titles in Grade 2 and secured promotion to Grade 1 in 2019. The band is working enthusiastically in preparation for its debut at the highest level of competition amongst the world’s elite in 2022 under the leadership of Pipe Major David Chesney and Leading Drummer Brendan Megoran.
Closkelt’s talented tenor drummers will play acoustIQ Grand Slam tenor drum mallets in practice, competition, concerts and public engagements with immediate effect.

Leading Drummer Brendan Megoran said: "Closkelt is extremely pleased to join with acoustIQ and I know that we have made an excellent choice in tenor mallets as we await our debut into Grade 1. I know that my mid-section team are already enjoying the quality of the mallets and it has already made a positive impact on the sound and flourishing accuracy. The band is very much looking forward to working with acoustIQ."
